How does an aquabike session at home work?

You have a swimming pool in the Canton of Geneva and you want to do aquabike, aquagym or aquafitness at home? And you don't know what you can do in your private pool.

Our team of 372 sports coaches is there to guide you and explain the possibilities.

It's a tailor-made service, we bring all the equipment, our know-how and the good mood necessary to allow you to actively enjoy your pool.

Aquagym equipment and clothing

All aquafitness and aquagym equipment is provided by our sports coaches. We come to you with our professional and specially designed pool equipment.

All you need is your swimming costume (ideally a one-piece sports swimming costume), sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat or cap.

Aquabike and aquagym

The 372 aquafitness coaching team takes care of everything. We bring the number of aquabikes needed according to the number of people invited, then it's off to 50mn of aquacycling.

Aquabiking was invented in Italy in the 2000's, and then rapidly developed in France and Switzerland. Finally, the private aquatic and fitness coaches 372 have developed private aquacycling lessons since 2013 in the Canton of Geneva.

If you already own a Hydrorider, Cardieau, Dynamika or Waterflex aquabike, we will use your bike. Each aquabike has its advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing is that it is adapted to your pool and your morphology by being able to adjust the height and depth of the saddle and handlebars.

If you don't have a bike, we will bring them. Please note that we can bring up to seven Hydrorider bikes.

These are all stainless steel bicycles with 4 central buckets that provide resistance. The buckets and therefore the resistance are adjustable.

Secondly, they are ergonomic pool bikes with a comfortable saddle. The seat and handlebars are adjustable in height and depth (front to back). This is very interesting, because the aquabike will fit you and your body type.

Slippers for aquabiking

Depending on the model of aquabike you have, there may be a need for water shoes for your comfort and safety.

Our aquabodybike coaches use Hydrorider brand aqua bikes. For these models, it is more comfortable to have water shoes.

Either you already have your own shoes, or we can provide you with loan or purchase shoes. We lend you the slippers for the first few sessions.

Afterwards, for hygiene reasons, it is better to have your own pair of swimming shoes.

What size and surface should the private pool be?

All our aquabiking bikes are designed specifically for the pool, regardless of the type of surface.

The same goes for other equipment that is installed in the pool such as trampolines, treadmills and pole dancing machines. They are all adapted to each pool and cannot cause any damage.

Size of the private pool

The length and width of your private pool is not really important if you are alone. The length of a pool bike is about 1m and 80cm wide, so we can always install at least one bike.

Usually, our aquatics coach can easily set up three aquabikes.

To install more, it depends on the layout of your private pool and the depth of the pool.

The minimum depth should be 1.10m and the maximum depth 1.50m. The front and rear legs or bases of our Hydrorider aquabikes are adjustable in height, which allows us to adapt to each type of pool.

We have 7 aquabikes as well as other equipment. Coaching sessions can be shared with up to 10 people.

Each request will be studied according to the size and structure of your pool.

Pool lining

All aquatraining equipment that is installed at the bottom of the pool is reinforced with non-slip rubber feet/bases. This provides greater stability and above all protects the bottom of your home pool, whether it is liner, mosaic, marble or concrete.

This applies to water trampolines used in aquajumping, water treadmills in aquarunning and pole dancing.

Organisation of the aquafitness session

Each session is different and à la carte. We have a wide range of professional aquatic equipment which allows us to vary the sessions - cardio or muscular, lower body or upper body -.

Fitness classes in the pool are very rich in terms of the diversity of movements that can be carried out in the water and the opportunities offered by the equipment.

It is quite possible to combine several pieces of equipment on a cross-training principle. For example, alternating aquabiking (lower body), dumbbells (upper body), trampoline (cardio), floatation belt (full body) and twister (central body).

The duration of an aquatic coaching class is 50 minutes.

Setting up

Your aquatic coach will arrive at your home 10 to 15 minutes before the start of the aquabike or aquatraining session to set up the equipment, sound system and other accessories.

We prepare and install everything so that the session meets your expectations and those of your friends.

During the installation, you can sit at home or by the pool.

All we ask is that the pool is uncovered (without the curtain or cover) to avoid any problems during the handling.

Please note that we also bring a speaker for a dynamic coaching session with music.

Warm-up in aquagym or aquabiking at home

Depending on the session and the equipment, the warm-up will vary.

The duration is 5 to 10 minutes and corresponds to a progressive start-up. There is very little risk of injury in the pool.

We will see all the basic positions in Aquabike and will carry out educational movements to become aware of the movements in water with a work of support and balance.

In aquatraining or aquagym, the warm-up takes place without equipment so that you can "feel" the water and are already comfortable in it.

Body of the session 40mn

In aquacycling, each song has a specific objective or a main focus.

For example: climbing, sprinting, arm work, going behind the bike, back pedalling, etc.

The session is constructed in such a way as to alternate positions - which are much richer than on a fitness bike - and alternate objectives - cardio or muscular -.

The water enriches the coaching and makes it possible to combine the pedalling movements with upper body movements. The result is a more complete, varied and fun workout than a spinning class in fitness.

It is the same principle for the other aquafitness, aquatraining or aquajogging classes which are varied and complete.

We have objectives per song and alternate cardio vs muscular and lower body vs upper body. Each course is structured and follows a logic of progression and intensity.

For the circuit training classes, there are several options:

- either we change workshop/equipment/movement every five minutes

- or we change every 15 minutes

It depends on the number of people, your goal and your preferences.

Calming down

The duration is from 3 to 7 minutes depending on the water temperature. If the water temperature is below 27 degrees and you are cold, the cool-down will be shortened to stay on a good note.

Otherwise it will be based on stretching with the aim of relaxing and loosening up the muscles.

Note that thanks to the massage and the water drainage, you will never have a sore leg despite the intense work done during the session.

You will also be able to move slowly and with great amplitude thanks to the freedom that the water provides. Your body can move in all directions freely.

Note that our coaches have equipment that helps you float and carries your body. You will be light, carried by the water and totally relaxed.

NB: the body cools down 24x faster in water than on land. This results in a higher energy and calorific expenditure
